If you’re interested in creating more sustainable, healthy, and affordable food businesses in your community, come to the Legal Eats Workshop on Saturday, October 20, from 11am to 2:30pm, at Youth UpRising (8711 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland 94605).
This free workshop will empower you to navigate the laws around starting and maintaining a community-based food business.
Attorneys and law students will give short presentations on nearly 20 legal issues, ranging from employment law to getting a food truck registered. We’ll also help you connect with organizations in the Bay Area, who can provide you with resources and information on:
– cooperative/commercial kitchen space
– incubation support for new food projects
– health and safety regulations
